Affirmations are positive sentences you say to yourself on a regular basis. They have the power to change old habits and beliefs. Affirmations can influence your emotions, boosting your happiness and positivity. They can power up your motivation and energy levels. Affirmations can even improve your immune system. Basically, they can have a fabulous effect on your general wellbeing.
When I first began using affirmations, many years ago, I noticed that some worked really well whilst others had little to no effect on me whatsoever. So I began experimenting on myself (and my clients!). I discovered the reasons why some affirmations just provided a quick boost and why others worked so well they even changed deeply held patterns.
So I’m going to share a few of those secrets with you now.
Firstly, the quick boost affirmations are a great help if you’re having a hard day (or week!). If there’s no deeper ongoing reason for your challenging time, then a general affirmation when you’re feeling low can be very helpful indeed. Quick boost affirmations can pull you out of the doldrums and they can even stop the domino effect of one bad thing leading to another. Yep, we’ve all had those days!
If however you want to let go of deeper issues, such as improving your self esteem, clearing repetitive patterns or eliminating any blocks to your financial abundance, then a personally tailored affirmation is what you need.
When I create a personally tailored affirmation for a client I have to take a lot of things into consideration. The first thing to do is to find out WHY that issue exists in the first place. So using coaching and my other techniques, we begin traveling through the layers to uncover those reasons. When that gem of information is unearthed, I can go about building an affirmation.
However at this point, I still need to take other things into consideration, such as whether certain words hold any negative associations for my client. For example if I used a word their mother used to use in a negative way, then the affirmation wouldn’t work and could in fact reinforce their negative belief patterns.

What I want to do for you today is provide some quick boost affirmations to get you started.
Considering I’m writing this blog on a grey February day, I think some affirmations to chase away the winter blues and increase your energy and happiness would be perfect. And you never know, one of these could be exactly what you need to clear a major block that’s been bugging you for ages. Wouldn’t that be great?!
Here are some guidelines:
- Choose one or two affirmations you feel intuitively drawn towards. By the way, these could be affirmations you actually have an adverse reaction to!
- Write out your affirmations and put them by your bedside so they’re there in the morning and at night when you need them. TIP: find a beautiful card to write them in.
- Say your affirmations out aloud – THREE TIMES – first thing in the morning as soon as you wake up and last thing at night before you go to sleep.
- If you can, read through your affirmations, think about them or say them out aloud again, as many times as you can during the day. It’s especially important to do this when you’re feeling low or challenged in some way.
- Keep this up for a month and let me know how you got on. It would be great to hear all your feedback on here – just leave me a message below.
P.S. You may find the energy affirmations too much to say at night before going to bed. If so, say them three times in the afternoon instead. I don’t want you to experience insomnia or crazy, mad dreams!
